Culture

Just a few notes from one of my latest essays on Mexican Culture.

To be impeccable with your word means that you will not have back door friendships, or spread poison with your tongue. Instead you shall be a person that carries with them a great deal of integrity & principle. I feel that in today's society my fellow humans have forgotten this due to an array of things like: the rapid advancement of technology, power & greed, and a faulty memory. If all you have to do is "click here" & its done then how can we truly see the world behind that computer. Power & Greed has followed human beings since the beginning of time & sadly it doesn't appear to be releasing its kung-fu grip from us any time soon. I believe that in order for us to be freed from this evil we must open our minds and hearts to the possibility of tolerance, knowledge, and love. Memory is a tricky one because its not that we don't know its that we just don't care and if we do care we still do nothing. I don't know which is worse; not wanting to know, or knowing and not doing.

My family has always preached EDUCATION! EDUCATION! And more EDUCATION! My father always said that if I ever wanted to further myself and discover truth then I must get educated. In my culture (Mexican) this is well understood, but rarely acted upon. My people still believe that a farmer can be just as wealthy & prosperous as anyone else. This could be true if we dealt away with power & greed. How can a simple farmer, or migrant worker compete against a crooked elitist? We value family and hardwork, and this to us is enough. But can it truly be enough with imperialism always poking its evil head out? I will take my values and principles and mix them with knowledge, so that I can go back to my village and pass it on.

Are you not yourself a hypocrite?
Speaking of how you value family when in turn your family doesn't value you? and faulty memory? You are guilty of this too You speak of love, but have you ever really been in love or have that love for something you just can't live without?

Curious to see what you have to say
bc if you have never felt any of this then how can you speak about it

Stress....Mr. Javier, for being a young man, it sounds like you have more stress than one person should have to carry. You write about faulty memories,...which I dont see exactly how it ties into your new blog posting...wealth, greed, education, values and the ever problematic youth which is great. These are all great topics and you make some good points which could be depabed either way in quite some detail. But do you have anyting positive to say, do you have anything uplifting, anything to smile about?

I am sure you do.

Back door friendships.
Faulty memories.

What do you mean...is this in relation to your essays on Mexican Culture or to your everyday life with family and friends? Just curious.

My core family absolutely values and appreciates me to no end. Faulty memory is in referece to two different things: 1.) Knowing about something and accepting to do nothing, and
2.) Not being able to fully forgive someone, or something.

As for love I have had the fortunate luck to have found it, but as of late I have lost her due to some personal things. I feel as though I can not live with out her and have tried on numerous occations to win her back, but all my attempts have gone unanswered. So, you see I have experienced all of these emotions and situations on different levels, some intense and some moderately.

In regards to stress, I have had a lot lately, but it has not dominated me. I write on controversial topics, because I believe they matter and someone should speak of these things.

As for uplifting how's this;
"Follow great footsteps, and leave some great footsteps behind."
--Nargas (young refugee girl)

I didn't mean to sound to serious its just that I am extremely passionate about activism and its role in today's world. Thanks for the feedback.
