How can our generation (20-25) progress today's minds, heroes, and influential figures around the globe if the majority is consumed in escapism, and hyperconsuming? i.e. dubs, hoes, big cribs, and meaningless bar conversations. I do believe that we all need to escape from time to time, but to indulge in it is to become ignorant to current events that will shape all of our futures. Not being proactive in foreign policy and world events has long been a part of American youth in this country, and we must put a decisive end to it now!

This revolution that I speak of is one of intelligence, not guerilla warfare (that should be our last resort). Meaning that it is up to youth to read books and articles on: controversial topics (human rights, revolution), history of American Hegemony, imperialism, socialism/communism, and great figures such as Che, Zapata, Wallace, & Byrid Rustin (MLK, Jr.'s right hand man-who no one knew about because he was gay.) When we all do this it gives us a global perspective, expands our personal lives, takes away the blinders that we tend to wear and gives us an extremely powerful voice!

very well put anonymous!! True revolution begins at home with oneself. What I am talking about is a sense of identity and unity which I believe is completely obtainable within our lifetime. Many people have told me that I am foolish to believe that Intelligence, Revolution, and Tolerance can coexist in today's society let alone in my lifetime. But I refuse to accept that, because I am a man of strong principles and believe that with education, passion, and determination we can all achieve our life's impossibilities.

Currently I am a Speaker with a concentration in political activism, genocide, and tolerance. I believe that if we all become well informed then we can trully create change.

Technology like this could be the medium to reach both youth and adults. At the same time I believe that technology has surpassed civilization so much that it has numbed us to the brutalities of this world.
i.e. all our president has to do is give the general a code and push a button and an entire country is wiped out. The same goes for technologically advanced countries. In order for this horrific option to be taken completely taken off the table we must: get informed on both domestic and international events, trully embrace each others differences and cast aside hate, and together demand a better world. Whether it be by lobbying, activism, fundraising, or a combination of all three is entirely up to us. The one thing that is certain is that we should never stop striving for a better world.

You sound way too serious...you are going to give yourself an ulcer sometime soon.

I blame MTV / Media / Cheap marketing aimed at todays very impresionable minds and schools that continue to make cut backs on everything from sports to art classes.

Thoughts from the anonymous....

Actually I do have 2 ulcers the size of footballs!! HA!! HA!! No, I am serious about revolution and tolerance in this country, but my favorite personal quality is that I don't take my self too serious. MTV and the Media are a contributing factor to today's "who cares" youths attitudes. And the fact that they are playing pro environmental commercials like the veggie oil one is no where near enough. Maybe they should cut back on the hooking up, & vanity shows. i.e. room raiders, next, laguna beach, etc... good stuff anonymous

A good way to get started with your revolution would be to look at the New York School systems. The school has a apartheid system. Schools in public schools in New York are about 99% black and hispanic and 1% white. All the white kids go to private schools that blacks and hispanics can not afford. Think about it two different ways to teach children, you have one system for poor children and system to teach middle class and rich children. Think about it....... it's horrible their is no equalized opportunity for everyone to get the same education
